Pressure Equipment Design
Code-compliant design and fitness-for-service assessment for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and static equipment.
Pressure equipment failures carry severe consequences — personnel safety, environmental impact, and regulatory exposure. Agile Reliability brings deep code knowledge and field experience to pressure vessel design, review, and fitness-for-service assessment. We work to ASME and API standards and provide independent, vendor-neutral evaluations that protect both your people and your assets.
Methodology
How We Work
Design Basis Review
Establish or verify the design basis: operating conditions, design margins, material selection, corrosion allowances, and applicable code edition. Identify gaps between as-built and current code requirements.
Mechanical Design Calculations
Perform or review pressure vessel design calculations per ASME Section VIII Div. 1 or Div. 2. Includes shell, head, nozzle, and flange design with full documentation.
Fitness-for-Service Assessment
Evaluate in-service equipment with known damage mechanisms — corrosion, erosion, cracking, creep — using API 579 / ASME FFS-1 Level 1, 2, or 3 assessment methodology.
Remaining Life Estimation
Calculate remaining corrosion life and inspection intervals based on measured wall thickness, corrosion rates, and operating conditions. Supports risk-based inspection (RBI) programs.
Repair & Alteration Engineering
Engineering support for ASME PCC-2 repairs and National Board R-stamp alterations. Includes weld procedure review, post-weld heat treatment requirements, and inspection hold points.
